Local products, international influences
Together with my culinary soulmate Joachim Boudens I took over Hertog Jan in 2005. Building on my experience working for top chefs in Belgium, I transformed the restaurant’s traditional kitchen into something more refreshing.
Focusing on the ways flavours, structures and contrasts take shape, I aim at stimulating all the senses with my dishes and create my own signature style. We were awarded our first Michelin star in 2006. The second followed in 2009 and the third in 2011.
I'm proud to have received the "European Chef of the Year Award" in 2014.
